Isolation

Roof insulation is usually installed between the beams of your roof or attic. It limits the transfer of heat or coolness between the inside of your home and the outside.

Both in summer and winter, insulation will ensure a balanced temperature and improve your comfort as well as the energy efficiency of your home. This material will also help prevent the irregular accumulation of ice on the surface of your roof!

Ventilation

Ventilation, especially when you have an attic in your home, will ensure natural air circulation for optimal humidity levels and an even room temperature.

This element of the roof plays an important role in preventing the accumulation of ice on your roof during the winter and helps to counteract the heat of the summer. Good ventilation will make your home comfortable and ensure the longevity of your roof.

Roof Deck

When it comes to a roof deck, the materials generally used are oriented strand board (OSB) sheets and plywood. Corrugated iron, reinforced concrete, polystyrene and other materials are also an option.

Whatever material is used, a roof deck’s function is to serve as a nail board for the shingles.

Underlayment

Synthetic paper: Stronger than organic membrane, it is very resistant to tearing, wrinkling and warping. This paper can also be exposed for a longer period to the weather.

This material is a protective underlayment that is installed over the plywood. Synthetic paper is used as a vapour barrier, which means that it waterproofs your roof to prevent condensation from forming on your roof.

Protection Against Water & Ice

Self-adhesive membrane: This waterproof protection sticks to your roof thanks to its adhesive property and provides a waterproof protection around the nails. It is essential to affix this membrane to protect your roof against water and ice infiltration.

Ridge & Attic Vents

Ridge Ventilation: This element is installed on roofs without an attic, i.e. cathedral roofs. It is installed at the top, where the two surfaces of your sloped roof meet. This type of ventilation is used to replace the function of a regular attic ventilation.

Attic Ventilation: A fan allows interior heat to be naturally exhausted to the outside. In the summer, ventilation ensures a cool temperature in the house and optimal efficiency of your air conditioning system.

Shingles

Asphalt shingles protect your home from the elements. It is the last layer of your roof and the most visible element! We offer a wide variety of colors, patterns and sizes!

Flashing

Roof flashings are installed around chimneys, dormers, walls and other areas as needed to ensure that your roof is watertight. Once installed, the flashings are sealed to prevent water infiltration into the cavities.
